Vedic meditation FAQs

I've never meditated before, will I be able to learn Vedic meditation?

Yes, absolutely! Vedic meditation doesn't require any prior knowledge or experience of any meditation technique.

When will I start feeling the benefits?

We’re all entirely unique individuals, and each of us comes to meditation with our own history, circumstances, physiology and experience. Some will notice dramatic shifts straight away, while for others it will be a slower, more steady shift into newer states of peace and awareness. Whatever your journey looks like, it’s important to avoid comparing it to anyone else’s, and to let go of any preconcieved ideas of how things ‘should’ look. As our practice continues, so does the personal evolution – there are always new layers of our own self to explore, understand and integrate, and healing is a continuum.

What if I can't sit still or stop thinking?

No problem – Vedic meditation is not a stillness contest, and we aren't trying to see how long we can force ourselves to "not think". In fact, thoughts are a welcome part of Vedic meditation, and not something that we try to avoid or remove – this generally just creates more tension anyway! There are also no rules around sitting in uncomfortable positions – being comfortable allows us to relax into the experience, so if you’re fidgety or have to wiggle around a bit to get comfortable at any point, go for it.

If I learn to meditate will I lose my personality?

Absolutely not! Meditation does not remove any of the wonderful personality traits that make you who you are. What it does do is remove stress and tension from the system that are stopping you from being the fullest expression of yourself.

The course is a significant investment. What is included in the price?

The fee includes the four-day course, my ongoing support, lifetime access to our growing community of meditators (think inspiring group meditations and knowledge sessions!) plus you can re-sit the course for FREE any time you like.

Most importantly, by the end of the four days you'll be a self-sufficient meditator, equipped in bringing this profound practice into your daily routine with benefits that will unfold for a lifetime. This is where Vedic meditation differs to other meditation techniques such as apps, books or drop-in classes. Many are designed to guide you through a meditation experience, where as my intention is to teach you to meditate, and give you all the tools to practice confidently and independently. Of course, I'll be available beyond the course whenever questions arise.

Can you come to my home or office?

Yes, I can happily arrange a private course at your home or workplace. Please note the investment differs for this option. Please get in touch to chat more.

How many people are in the course?

Each course is conducted in a group, and there may be between 2-8 people in your course. I keep things small to ensure every student gets the time and attention they need to feel confident with the course and the technique.

What if I don't like group things?

Don't worry, you'll spend most of the sessions listening to knowledge and refinement of the technique, and you won't be required to share much unless you'd like to. If you prefer a private course, please get in touch to discuss.

Running/cooking/playing music is my meditation. Why should I learn this?

Hobbies like the above give us some respite and downtime from the pressures of daily life. They are fantastic, and they are definitely meditative, but they are not meditation. They have the effect of relaxation in that particular moment, but they don't shift our mind-body connection, dissolve stored stress or create a lasting state of happiness, balance and equilibrium. Learning Vedic meditation is a wonderful way to boost the enjoyment we get out of our favourite hobbies though – the increased clarity and creativity that comes with this practice flow into our daily life, improving all aspects.
